SUPER random contemplative sound journal

SO… i have this habit of cracking my toe knuckles while i’m laying in bed. like repeatedly, over and over and over again until i fall asleep.

the other night, as i lay there in silence, listening only to the dog barking and the sound of my toe knuckles cracking, i started to think about the future when i would be sharing a bed with my wife or girlfriend.  what if she starts to get annoyed of my toe cracking?

THEN, get this.. i started thinking about 10 years of living with me, after she gets used to my toe cracking. then it will start to have the same affect on her, that the sound of the dogs barking had on ME. she won’t be able to sleep without hearing that to comfort her.

THEN when i die, she’ll lay there by herself and wish that she could hear my toes crack just one more time.

Sound Journal

Every night when I go to sleep, there are these dogs next door that constantly bark. It used to be really irritating, but now I’m kinda used to it. Sometimes I even think that if it were too quiet, I wouldn’t be able to sleep without the sound of the dogs barking or something to take away from the silence. When it’s quiet, I’m left with my own thoughts, and then I won’t sleep at all. I’m either thinking about something I have to do or getting ideas for something else. After I get the idea, I sit up trying to figure out whether I should get out of bed to write it down, or if I should just stay comfy in bed and hope I remember when I wake up.  I know that if I get out of bed, I won’t be able to sleep, but the thought of possibly forgetting the idea keeps me up, too. So the only thing that makes me fall asleep is praying…

I start all my prayers with, “Dear God, sorry, cuz you know I’m gonna fall asleep, but wassup!”

project idea

i finally think i know what i’m going to do for my project.

i’ve been an art student for a while now, and the most irritating thing i’ve encountered is those really pretentious art students.  you know what i’m talking about. that one guy in class who thinks everything is a symbol for that metaphor for the idea the meaning of life.  the guy that talks and talks, but really doesnt say a whole lot of anything.  i mean, i get it. we’re art students, and our work is more than simply studying and reciting facts, but i cannot stand those people who walk around with their nose in the air because they think they our SOOO intellectual.

its like, dude.. sometimes, that leaf.. is just a leaf. so i definitely think that my project is going to take on the subject of ART, and what is ART, and more importantly, what is an ART STUDENT. hopefully i can find just what i’m looking for.
